TASTING NOTES

A vibrant expression of the season, this Sauvignon Blanc presents a luminous hue of light yellow with green reflections. The nose is lifted and inviting, offering a medley of pineapple, dried fig, and fresh fig aromas. These notes transition seamlessly to the palate, where stone fruit unfolds over a subtle saline texture, adding depth and finesse.

The finish is long and poised, with a mineral edge that speaks to the wine’s structure and age-worthiness. A graceful vintage that promises longevity and continued evolution in bottle.

An excellent partner with white meat, including chicken, pork, turkey and fish. This wine complements salads, sauté veggies and soft cheese like Goat’s milk cheese.

About The Harvest

The 2025 growing season delivered ideal conditions for Sauvignon Blanc at Capaia. A dry spring followed by moderate summer temperatures allowed for slow, even ripening, preserving vibrant acidity and aromatic clarity. Grapes were harvested early to capture freshness and minerality, resulting in a wine with lifted tropical notes, fine texture, and promising longevity.

In The Cellar

The grapes were destemmed and crushed with skin contact overnight before being pressed. The wine was then cold fermented for about 20 days, using different yeast strains. Following fermentation, the wine spent another 4 months on fine lees, before bottled.

Additional Information

For the last four years, the Western Cape experienced a severe drought with smaller crops year on year. This year our vineyards produced 45% more grapes than it did the past four years, thanks to good reserves accumulated in the post-harvest period, rain during critical berry growth stages and a moderate climate throughout the growing season.
